Darque- is a Fetish photographer from the New York City area. Upon coming onto the scene
he was disturbed by the lack of quality images of women of color in the fetish community.
Through his Indigo Blaque project Darque states "There is another side to elegant fetish, a
sensual more mysterious side. It is far more than the depravity that the media
tends to portray it as. Through Indigo Blaque I wanted to show how I view it."
"As a photographer, I recognize that perception is reality, and too often the reality
of our lifestyle is skewed by how we re portrayed in the media. It is time we changed
how we are perceived so that we can change reality."
Darque published his first book in 2008 Indigo Blaque - A New Look At Fetish,
Volume 1, he is also active in Black BEAT-a nation wide organization dedicated to empowering
African Americans and other people of color in lifestyle community. As a
moderator for their NY/NJ chapter he seeks to carry the message of education and acceptance
throughout the NY/NJ area.
